Product Details

Using his ancestor recipe, Saúl Rojas Gutierrez has been making Premium Mezcal for 40 years, by knowing knows exactly how to combine aromas and flavors.
Amor de Agave is produced in smalls batches with traditional methods. Crafted at a Palenque in Matatlán. Oaxaca, by a third-generation grower and distiller.
The agave plant- also known as maguey- can grow for 25 to 30 years, but the one we use to make mezcal is harvested for a period of 6 to 7 years. Then, the plant’s spines are cut and the remaining heart- called pineapple- we use it for the manufacture of mezcal.
The next step is to cook the agave for four days. Then, the roasted agave is ground on a rock mil, turned by a horse.

When the agave is finished being ground, it is placed in a wooden barrel with water and allowed to ferment for several days. After fermentation, the mixture should be distilled. In the second distillation, the Mezcal should be shaken to obtain the desired degree of alcohol. Finally, it is bottled and labelled with all the love.
